OBJECTIVE:

The hierarchical objective of this project is to demonstrate the feasibility of preserving our natural environment with commercial ventures.  This Eco-Tourism project for the El Tumbao will promote tourism in Puerto Rico, in the Guayama area, and at the same time will preserve the eco-system using renewable energy resources to minimize the impact of technology and on the site

BACKGROUND

El Tumbao area is a unique region in southeast Puerto Rico which has been preserved from housing development because of its location between hills close to the city of Guayama.  It is an almost unexplored area of around 250 acres (1 Km²) of forests with spectacular landscapes to the coasts and with a great variety of exotic plants.  El Tumbao peak is the one of the highest in region rising to 750 meters above sea level.   The land is owned by Mr. Victor Cortez who has joined Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, an expert in renewable energy, to develop an Eco-Tourism Project in this area.
